Author Guidelines

Wellspring: Journal of Sustainable Public Health welcomes high-quality submissions that contribute to the theoretical and practical understanding of sustainable public health. To ensure a smooth editorial process, authors must strictly adhere to the following guidelines before submitting their manuscripts.

1. General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original, have not been published previously, and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • Articles should be written in good academic English or standard Bahasa Indonesia.
  • The manuscript file must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • The length of the manuscript is generally expected to be between 4,000 to 7,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.

2. Manuscript Structure

The text should be systematically arranged following the IMRAD format (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion). The standard structure includes:

  • Title: Should be concise, informative, and reflect the main findings or theme of the research (maximum 15 words).
  • Author(s) Identity: Name, Affiliation, and Email of the corresponding author. (Note: Remove author identities in the blind review version of the manuscript).
  • Abstract: Must provide a brief summary of the research background, objective, methods, main results, and conclusion. It should not exceed 250 words and must be accompanied by 3-5 keywords.
  • Introduction: Contains the background, literature review, research gap, and the specific objectives of the study.
  • Methods: Describes the research design, population/sample, data collection instruments, and data analysis techniques comprehensively.
  • Results and Discussion: Presents the findings clearly and interprets them by comparing with previous relevant studies.
  • Conclusion: Summarizes the main findings, implications for public health, and suggestions for future research.
  • References: See section 3 below.

3. Citation and References

All citations and references must strictly follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition style. Authors are highly recommended to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to minimize formatting errors. A minimum of 80% of the references should be primary literature (journal articles) published within the last 10 years.

4. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be placed within the text, appropriately numbered, and given a brief title. Tables should use open formats (no vertical lines) following standard academic layouts. Images and graphs must be of high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).

5. Submission Preparation

Prior to submission, please ensure that the article has been proofread for grammatical correctness and that all references are accurately cited. Authors must also ensure the text passes the plagiarism screening (maximum 20% similarity index) before clicking the submit button on the OJS platform.
